Plate 3 of 13

The right distance

Placing the vibrator near the clitoris and adjusting intensity by moving away

11 min read

Even on the lowest setting, a vibrator placed directly on the clitoris can seem too strong. The sensation arrives all at once, concentrated on a very small surface.

This technique takes the opposite path: do not aim at the clitoris itself. You set the device on a nearby area, such as the pubis, the vulva or the upper thighs, and you let the vibrations travel the rest of the way. Before they reach the clitoris, they pass through other tissue. They arrive there softened, more diffuse and less abrupt than with direct contact.
