Breathing

Lengthening the exhale to feel your body more, then slowing down or reviving arousal

14 min read

During sex, breathing most often slips into the background. The body handles it on its own, as it does through the rest of the day, and attention moves elsewhere. Yet it holds a place apart among the functions of the body. A function such as digestion stands outside the will. Breath, by contrast, runs without your thinking about it, but you can take the reins back at any moment: slow it, speed it up, suspend it for an instant, then let it run alone again.

Many describe fuller orgasms when they let go: a long exhale, a sigh, just when the body wants to contract.
